Contract company alleges client failed to pay promissory note

GRETNA –A contract company is suing a client, alleging failure to pay off a promissory note.

120 West Partners LLC filed a suit against Elijah Nelson III Jan. 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, Nelson entered into a shoring contract Jan. 14, 2011, with Patterson Structural Moving and Shoring LLC. The suit states the contract was approved by the state of Louisiana for certain funding and that using the funding, the Nelson took our a promissory note for the amount of $30,000.

The lawsuit states 120 West Partners completed the work required, but Nelson has failed to make good on the requirements of the promissory note.

120 West Partners seeks financial damages, attorney fees and court costs.  It is is represented by attorney Blake E. Oakes of The Oakes Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767799.
