Customer blames Dollar General for injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A customer is suing Dollar General, blaming the store for a fall.

Francella Magee filed a lawsuit Dec. 28 against Dolgencorp LLC, doing business as DG Louisiana LLC, also known as Dollar General, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 7, 2016, Magee was a guest at the Dollar General at 5700 Crowder Road, Orleans Parish, when she was caused to slip and fall on a puddle of water that had been left by the door. The suit says she suffered serious injuries to her body.

Dollar General is accused of negligence through failing to provide the customer with a safe experience, failing to warn of the danger or clean up the mess.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorneys Robert T. Hughes and Ryan J. Hughes of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12580.
