Bank of America alleges mortgage customer owes more than $100,000

NEW ORLEANS – Bank of America is suing a mortgage customer, alleging he owes more than $100,000.

Bank of America N.A. filed a lawsuit Dec. 28 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Darnell A. Warren, alleging breach of contract and breach of a promissory note.

According to the complaint, Bank of America is the holder of a promissory note that was to be paid off toward a mortgage for Warren. The original sum of the note was $144,727 and, the suit states, Warren is still indebted Bank of America for $105,313.84, plus interest.

Bank of America seeks the money due, all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Jason R. Smith of Dean Morris LLC in Monroe.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
