Bank alleges customer owes nearly $140,000 for mortgage agreement

NEW ORLEANS – A mortgage holder is suing a customer, alleging he owes nearly $140,000.

Regions Bank, doing business as Regions Mortgage, filed a lawsuit Dec. 6 against Jonathan M. Warren, also known as John Warren, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging failure to pay off promissory note on a mortgage.

According to the complaint, Regions Mortgage is the holder of a promissory note that was for the original sum of $151,320. The suit states Warren was required to pay off the balance of the note at a monthly rate but has failed to honor the terms of the agreement and is still indebted to the plaintiff for $139,332.75.

Regions Mortgage seeks the $139,332.75, all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorneys from Shapiro & Daigrepont LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
