Man seeks damages after he allegedly fell 12 feet

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he was injured when he fell 12 feet through an attic floor.

Darryl Thompson filed a lawsuit Jan. 4 against Quentin Chalmers and USAA Casualty Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was responding to a house call at the defendant's home, located at 1200 Pine St., New Orleans. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when the attic floor collapsed, and the plaintiff plummeted 12 feet.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the premises and failing to warn the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John D. Sileo and Casey W. Moll from New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
