Louisiana State University claims that it is owed more than $1,000

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana State University alleges a former student has not paid a loan in full.

Louisiana State University system board of supervisors through Louisiana State University filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 against Dwane Hughes Jr. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the holder of a promissory note that was executed by the defendant for the amount of $1,000. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of the note plus interest.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay off the promissory note.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
