Mortgage company alleges customer owes more than $96,000

GRETNA – A mortgage business is suing a Jefferson Parish customer, alleging she owes more than $96,000.

Beneficial Louisiana Inc. filed a lawsuit Jan. 17 against Charlotte C. Johannesen of Kenner, also known as Charlotte Clements Neel Johannesen, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging failure to pay. 

According to the claim, Beneficial Louisiana is the holder of a loan agreement for the principal balance of $129,533.53. The suit states Johannesen has failed to make the installment payments that they agreed to and that the defendant is still indebted to the plaintiff for $96,235.64, plus interest.

Beneficial Louisiana seeks all sums due plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Jason R. Smith of Dean Morris LLC in Monroe.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 768206.
