LAKE CHARLES – A Florien woman alleges she was terminated in retaliation for filing a sexual harassment complaint.
Trisha Paris filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lake Charles Division against
Maxim Management Group LLC, Tri Parish Rehabilitation Hospital LLC, et al.
alleging unlawful discrimination and unlawful retaliation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 22, 2015, she was wrongfully terminated from her employment with the defendants for reporting alleged sexual harassment from a male supervisor. The plaintiff holds Maxim Management Group LLC, Tri Parish Rehabilitation Hospital LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly created a hostile working environment and subjected her to discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other adverse employment actions.
As a result, she alleges she suffered loss of wages and benefits, stress, anxiety, pain and suffering and mental anguish.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, any medical bills related to her damages, attorney's fees, costs of these proceedings, plus interest and all other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled.
