Woman alleges substance on floor at Save-A-Lot caused slip and fall

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing Moran Foods LLC, claiming that she was caused to slip and fall in a Save-A-Lot.

Deirdre Johnson filed a lawsuit against Moran Foods, doing business as Save-A-Lot, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the Save-A-Lot on 999 Lake Forest Blvd. on Sept. 13, 2016 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when she was caused to slip and fall on a substance on the floor. The fall resulted in injuries to her legs, arms, head, neck, chest, abdomen, trunk, hips and back, as well as soft tissue injuries and internal injuries, nervous system injuries and brain injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to keep the store safe and free from dangerous conditions, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by Stephen F. Harris Jr. of Law Office of Stephen F. Harris Jr. in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
