Shopper blames Kenner mall for injuries

GRETNA – A customer is suing a Kenner mall, alleging its negligence caused her injuries in a fall.

Karen Crawford filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 against Spotlight for Less LLC, XYZ Insurance Company, Esplanade Mall Partnership, The Charter Oak Fire Insurance Company and Interstate Cleaning Corporation and Nationwide Janitorial Services Inc and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Crawford was a customer at the defendant's property, 1401 West Esplanade Ave., Kenner. The suit states Crawford slipped on a wet floor as she approached Spotlight For Less LLC. The fall caused the plaintiff to suffer physical injuries as well as mental pain and suffering.

The defendants are accused of negligently failing to properly warn of the dangerous situation, failing to remedy the situation, failing to create an environment that was safe for guests and overall negligence.

Crawford seeks all reasonable sums damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorneys John D. Sileo and Casey W. Moll of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
