Customer blames Church's Chicken for twisted ankle

GRETNA – A customer is suing Church's Chicken, alleging he twisted his ankle on a high curb due to the defendant's negligence.

Norman J. Bonck of Jefferson Parish filed a suit Feb. 14 against Cajun Operating Company, doing business as Church's Chicken ,in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Bonck was a guest at Church's Chicken, 3111 Loyola Drive, Kenner, on Feb. 20, 2016. The suit states Bonck twisted his ankle when he was forced to step up to a curb that was 12 inches in height.

The defendant is accused of negligently failing to remedy the unreasonably high curb, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

Bonck seeks reasonable damages, attorney fees and all court costs. He is represented by attorney Williams R. Mustian III of Stanga & Mustian in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769027.
