Mortgage company alleges promissory note customers owe more than $100,000

GRETNA – A mortgage company is suing Jefferson Parish customers, alleging they owe more than $100,000 on a promissory note.

Reverse Mortgage Solutions Inc. filed a suit Feb. 17 against Irene Shill Balderas, Daniel Joseph Balderas Jr., and Lisa Balderas Ledet in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due.

According to the claim, Irene Shill Balderas and Daniel Joseph Balderas Sr. took out a reverse mortgage loan, Sept. 5, 2003, from Hibernia National Bank. Both individuals are deceased. The suit states the defendants were required to pay off the balance of the note at the end of a certain time period.

The lawsuit states the original balance of the note was $168,750 and the defendants still owe $103,708.10, plus interest. 

Reverse Mortgage Solutions seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Rader Jackson of Jackson & McPherson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
