Customer blames seafood company for making her ill

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a seafood business, alleging she consumed tainted seafood.

Andrea Hill filed a suit Feb. 27 against Express Seafood, Inc., Thien An LLC, Ba Van Phan, doing business as Express Seafood, Dai Tony Nguyen, doing business as Express Seafood and Thien An and Kieuvan Thi Nguyen, doing business as Express Seafood, in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Hill purchased seafood from the defendant March 5, 2016. The suit states Hill became incredibly ill following the consumption of the seafood and had to be hospitalized. The lawsuit states the seafood had not be cooked, prepared or packaged in a safe manner, which ultimately led to the the plaintiff's illness.

The defendant is accused of negligently manufacturing, distributing and marketing the food.

Hill seeks damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Thomas E. Campbell in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
