Passenger claims she was injured after USPS employee rear-ended vehicle

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman alleges she was injured when the vehicle she was riding in was rear-ended by a United States Postal Service employee.

Ariel Johnson filed a complaint on March 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against United States of America and Brandon Edgerson alleging careless operation of a vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 9, 2016, Brandon Edgerson, rear-ended the vehicle in which plaintiff was a passenger. At the time of the accident, she was eight months pregnant, the suit states. She alleges she sustained severe and debilitating injuries and suffered severe emotional distress related to her unborn child's future well-being.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in the sum of $500,000 and costs of this suit. She is represented by Jason R. Anders, Jonas P. Baker and Rachel A. Richardson of Loeb Law Firm in Mandeville.
