American Express sues card holder, alleges unpaid debts

GRETNA – American Express is seeking damages for a credit card holder's open account.

American Express Centurion Bank filed a suit March 13 against Lynne R. Songy in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging unpaid debts.

According to the claim, the plaintiff issued the defendant a Platinum Card. The defendant accumulated a balance of $35,436.79 on the account and has failed to pay it off.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Edward Bukaty III, Warren Wingerter Jr. and Alexander Bukaty of Edward Bukaty III Professional Law Corp. in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.
