NEW ORLEANS – A construction company claims Louisiana Energy and Power Authority failed to pay for work performed on a power plant in Morgan City.
The Robins & Morton Group filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against Louisiana Energy and Power Authority alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it and the defendant entered into a contract in 2014 for services on the Unit Number One Combined Cycle Power Plant. The plaintiff holds Louisiana Energy and Power Authority responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay damages, retention and bonus.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in excess of $17,922,591, plus interest and costs for an extension of 295 days, and such other and further relief. It is represented by Michael D. Hunt, Kelsey Kornick Funes and Jack B. Stanley of Phelps Dunbar LLP in Baton Rouge.
