Woman alleges she was injured at Walmart by employee pushing carts

NEW ORLEANS – A Walmart shopper claims she was knocked to the floor by an employee pushing carts.

Jeannette Montalbano filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 19, 2016, she was entering defendant's Walmart SuperCenter in Hammond through the grocery side entrance. While getting a shopping cart, the suit states an employee pushed a line of carts into her, knocking her to the floor. As a result, she alleges she has suffered and continues to suffer multiple personal, psychological and emotional injuries. The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train and supervise its employees and failed to warn business invitees of dangerous conditions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in sums that are reasonable in the premises, plus interest and all costs of these proceedings. She is represented by Michael Hingle and Michael Hingle III of Michael Hingle & Associates LLC in Hammond.
