Man alleges Metairie Wal-Mart failed to clean up electronics area, resulting in fall

GRETNA – A man was allegedly caused to slip and fall in a Wal-Mart.

Roman Nunez of Orleans Parish filed a suit March 31 against Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on May 9, 2016 the plaintiff was at the Wal-Mart located at 8912 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a wet portion of ground in the electronics section.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to mark the dangerous area, clean up the area or properly train employees how to handle management of the property.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Kurt A. Offner of Alvendia, Kelly & Demarest in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
