Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 Pension Fund seeks audit of Slidell company

Late 05

NEW ORLEANS – A Slidell employer is alleged to have failed to permit an audit by labor union groups.

Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 Pension Fund, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 Health and Welfare Fund, et al. filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Rucker Mechanical Contractors LLC alleging that the employer violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and the Labor Management Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they and the defendants entered into an agreement and that they sought to perform a payroll compliance audit of the defendant in December 2016. The plaintiffs hold Rucker Mechanical Contractors LLC responsible because despite the demands seeking compliance, the defendant allegedly failed to remit contributions.

The plaintiffs seek all unpaid contributions, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs and all other legal or equitable relief. They are represented by Louis L. Robein and Paula M. Bruner of Robein, Urann, Spencer, Picard & Cangemi APLC in Metairie.
