University of New Orleans claims man owes $2,000 for promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for an unpaid promissory note.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit against Douglas M. Wicks in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging suit on a note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant a promissory note for the balance of $2,000. The defendant allegedly never paid off the balance.

The defendant is accused of never paying off the promissory note.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Wendy Ranmarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
