Muslim man alleges he was subjected to discrimination at Beacon Sales Acquisition

NEW ORLEANS – A Muslim employee claims a Harahan business subjected him to harassment because of his religion and national origin.

Ayman Saleh filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Beacon Sales Acquisition Inc., doing business as West End Roofing, Siding and Windows, alleging that the former employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendant as a driver in August 2005. He alleges other employees and managers made derogatory and negative comments to him and that he reported the harassment, but no action was taken. The suit states he resigned in 2014.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, punitive and consequential damages; plus interest; attorney’s fees and costs; and such other relief as the court deems appropriate.
