NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man claims that defective products rendered changes to his home useless and a solution was never provided.
Philip J. Boudousque filed a lawsuit April 18 against Belwith Products LLC, FKI Hardware Inc., Belwith Management Inc. and Davis Sales Co. Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased 25 Bewith pulls and 35 Belwith knobs for the price of $1,122.41. The suit states that the plaintiff discovered, after installing the knobs and pulls, that broke off and left sharp portions exposed. Despite the plaintiff's complaints, the defendants failed to provide the plaintiff with a helpful solution to the problem, leaving the plaintiff to deal with the financial burden of the poorly designed items, according to court records.
The defendants are accused of negligence and defects in the products, failing to provide the plaintiff with a solution and overall negligence.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Mark E. Hanna and Trevor M. Cutaiar of Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
