Woman alleges fall at Village Aurora Shopping Center due to uneven sidewalk

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages after she tripped on uneven pavement.

Faye E. Dyer filed a lawsuit April 19 against Village Aurora Shopping Center, also known as Algiers Plaza Shopping Center; Property One Inc.; N3 Property Advisors LLC; and the Hartford Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was walking on a sidewalk at the shopping center's property when she tripped and fell on a piece of sidewalk that was more elevated that the rest.

The defendant is accused of negligence and acts of omission through failing to ensure that the sidewalk was safe for walking.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney G. Patrick Hand Jr. of The Hand Law Firm APLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Melvin Zeno.
