Government seeking repayment of funds meant for home elevation project from Jefferson Parish residents

GRETNA – Jefferson Parish residents are being sued for not using government funds as required.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 25 against Joseph C. Logue and Sheryl C. Logue in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff gave the defendant $30,000 with the intention of it being used toward home elevation work. The suit states that the defendants have failed to show they used the money as such, and the plaintiff is seeking repayment.

The defendant is accused of having sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
