Cross Creek Pictures allege former employee unlawfully appropriated funds

NEW ORLEANS – A film production studio alleges a Houston man and former employee used its funds to unjustly enrich himself.

Cross Creek Pictures LLC and Timothy J. Thompson filed a complaint on May 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Raymond Dinunzio alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendant was hired in August 2016 as head of investor relations. They allege that while the plaintiffs paid him to raise funds for Cross Creek's Fund III, he was promoting his own business instead.

The plaintiffs hold Dinunzio responsible because the defendant allegedly appropriated plaintiff's funds and goodwill in order to raise a separate investment fund with a different company and for his own benefits.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for all amounts owed and damages, plus costs, interests and attorney’s fees and all other equitable relief which the court deems proper. They are represented by Sye J. Broussard of Broussard & Dove APLC in Houma and Scott L. Sternberg and Keith J. Naccari of Sternberg, Naccari & White LLC in New Orleans.
