Orleans Parish woman claims she suffered a concussion after tripping over hose

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is seeking damages after she fell on a metal hose.

Susan Lafaye filed a lawsuit June 22 against SES Enterprises LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was walking near 6216 Laurel St. on Nov. 30, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff had to step over a metal hose that was on the sidewalk but lost her balance and fell on the concrete. The plaintiff struck her head and was unconscious, and she went to the emergency room as a result, according to the complaint. The plaintiff was diagnosed with a concussion and a shoulder injury.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to warn of the danger, move the hose or prevent the incident.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Miles Trapolin of Trapolin Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
