St. John Parish man claims he was wrongfully terminated after he was injured

NEW ORLEANS – A St. John Parish man claims he was terminated after being injured at work.

Terry Conner filed a lawsuit June 22 against Gulf Transport LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging tort.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was working at 12170 Old Gentilly Road in New Orleans, when the incident occurred. The suit states that on Feb. 5 the plaintiff was injured in a work-related car accident. He claims that despite being unable to return to work due to the injury, the defendant terminated benefits, which the plaintiff was receiving. When he returned to work May 15, the defendant terminated his employment.

The defendant is accused of unfair termination of benefits and employment.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Vincent P. Impastato Sr. of Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
