Woman says she was injured when she stepped on clothing tag at Old Navy

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman claims she was injured when she stepped on a sharp object at Old Navy.

Jada Powell filed a suit June 27 against Old Navy LLC and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place April 26, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was at the Old Navy at 1136 S. Clearview Parkway in Harahan when she stepped on a security tag that punctured her shoe and skin. The plaintiff claims she suffered injuries and damages as a result.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to ensure that the premises were safe, failing to warn of danger and failing to take the necessary precautions.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John D. Sileo in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
