Lawsuit claims poor home health care led to man's worsening condition

GRETNA – A man claims in a lawsuit that his home care specialists failed to provide him with the care he needed.

Hennis Joseph Roussel Sr. filed a suit April 24 against Family Homecare Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence and breach in the standard of care.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for series of incidents that took place from April 25, 2017 to May 16, 2017. The suit states the plaintiff was given health wound care services at his home by the defendant and during the course of the incident, the plaintiff's orders for care changed. The suit states the defendant failed to keep up with the change of the plaintiff's care, which led to a worsening wound.

The defendant is accused of negligence and breach in the standard of care.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael Dubos of Breithaupt, Dubos & Wolleson LLC in Monroe.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy Miller.
