University of Louisiana files suit against former student

GRETNA – A university is seeking damages for sums due.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a suit June 21 against Vincent Barnett in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account in the balance of $2,193.50 plus interest, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance due.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 785014.
