Shopper files lawsuit after a slip and fall in a Dollar Tree store

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages following a slip and fall in a Dollar Tree.

Andreal Watson filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Dollar Tree Stores Inc., and Simish Holdings LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 8, 2018 when the plaintiff was at 3771 General DeGaulle Drive. The plaintiff alleges she was caused to slip and fall on a slippery floor due to no fault of her own.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to take the proper precautions.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Lawrence Blake Jones of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Rachael Johnson.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-12681.
