Discover Bank seeks damages for debt totaling more than $10,000

GRETNA – Discover Bank claims it is owed more than $10,000 on an open account.

The financial institution filed a complaint against Alina Pereira on Feb. 5 in the 24th Judicial District Court. The suit states that the defendant has been negligent on an open account from a credit card, and the plaintiff is seeking the $10,392.80 balance due, plus interest.


According to the complaint, the plaintiff's previous requests for the defendant to settle the open account have been to no avail. Discover Bank, represented by Laura T. D. Sims of Rausch Sturm in Enterprise, Ala., is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
