NEW ORLEANS — A couple is seeking damages, claiming that they were sold a home with damages.

Kevin and Michelle Juro filed a suit against Landis Construction Co. LLC and 425 Notre Dame LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 23.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs entered into an act of cash sale with 425 Notre Dame for the sale of a property located at 425 Notre Dame St. Despite paying more than $1.5 million, the plaintiffs have since discovered problems with the property, including structural defects and improper installations of floors and dysfunctional appliances. The suit also states that the plaintiffs have made the defendants aware of the issues with the property, but have not recognized their fault in the matter.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract of warranty for a new home, negligence through failing to make the plaintiffs aware of the defects in the property, negligent misrepresentation, detrimental reliance, as well as emotional and mental anguish caused to the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by David Vicknair and Brad P. Scott.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
