Electric company alleges breach of contract in failing to pay more than $150,000

NEW ORLEANS – An electric company is suing customers, alleging failure to pay more than $150,000.

Hi-Tech Electrical Inc. filed a lawsuit Jan. 18 against Baker Interactive Services LLC, doing business as Baker Audio, and Skanska Mapp, a joint venture, and Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract in failure to pay.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and defendant were part of a contract in which Hi-Tech Electrical performed work. The suit says the plaintiff was only paid for a portion of the work it completed and still is owed $151,849.80, plus interest.

Hi-Tech Electrical seeks all money owed, reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney P. Victor Hastings of Hastings Law Firm in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
