A couple claims the Jayco recreational vehicle they purchased was defective.

Joseph O. and Staci L. Mayeaux filed their complaint in federal court against Jayco Inc.

According to the complaint, the couple purchased a new 2022 Entegra Anthem motor home from an authorized Jayco dealer named Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado, Texas, while they lived in Louisiana. They paid $479,999 for the vehicle, excluding sales taxes and other expenses.

The couple says Jayco breached an implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. After the sale, the couple says repairs performed by Jayco through its various dealerships were inadequate and negligent.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Louisiana state law claims including redhibition, general damages for mental anguish, humiliation, inconvenience and negligent repair.
