NEW ORLEANS – A Lafourche Parish man employed by Bayou Marine Electronics alleges he was injured while installing radar equipment on a ship in Mississippi.
James Macareo filed a complaint on May 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Moran Towing Corp. and ABC insurance company alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 7, 2016, plaintiff was directed by his employer to install radar equipment on the defendant's vessel the Leigh Ann Moran when he was struck by a falling steel ceiling panel. The plaintiff alleges he sustained injuries to his head and cervical spine. The plaintiff holds Moran Towing Corp. and ABC insurance company responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain the vessel in a reasonably safe condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in plaintiff's favor, award for all damages warranted in the premises, plus interest, attorney's fees costs and expenses. He is represented by Isaac H. Soileau Jr. and Ryan A. Jurkovic of Soileau & Associates LLC in New Orleans.
