Orleans Parish woman claims home needed repairs

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims she was caused to trip and fall in a rental home.

Celosia Singleton filed a lawsuit against Renewal Homes II LLC, New Orleans Apartment Management and Marketing LLC and Nautilus Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Aug. 30, 2016. The plaintiff was allegedly walking down the hallway of her New Orleans home, which was built by the defendant, when she tripped and fell on a part of the floor that needed to be repaired.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to maintain the property and failing to warn of such danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Eve S. Reardon of The Keating Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
