Passenger says she was injured on New Orleans bus

NEW ORLEANS – A passenger on a New Orleans Regional Transit bus claims she was injured when the driver shut the door on her. 

Maxine Burton filed a lawsuit on Oct. 9 against Transdev Services Inc., individually and as successor to Veolia Transportation Services Inc., and New Orleans Regional Transit Authority in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that she was injured on Nov. 16, 2016 when she was getting off a Regional Transit Authority vehicle and the driver closed the door on the plaintiff, causing her injury.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney William E. Mura Jr., in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
