Woman claims she fell in parking lot of River Oaks Hospital

GRETNA – A woman is suing a hospital, alleging she tripped and fell on uneven concrete.

Janice Blocker filed a complaint on April 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against River Oaks Inc., dba River Oaks Hospital, and ABC Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 24, 2018, when the plaintiff was at the defendant's property at 1525 River Oaks Road in Harahan. The plaintiff claims she was caused to trip on a cracked portion of concrete and fall forward, striking her face.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Nancy Silbert of Wolfe, Begoun & Pick LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee Faulkner Jr.
