GRETNA – A man who was named as the alleged boyfriend of a woman undergoing divorce proceedings is suing her husband for defamation over the allegation.

Chris Kehoe filed suit against Troy Chategnier in the 24th Judicial District Court on May  20.

Kehoe claims he was named in a divorce petition filed by Chategnier as having entered into an adulterous relationship with Chategnier’s wife, Lesley Anne Brown Chategnier, beginning on Feb. 22, 2013. The plaintiff alleges the statements made by the defendant are false and malicious. Kehoe asserts he did not have any sexual relations with Chategnier’s wife on or around Feb. 22, 2013.

The defendant is accused of defamation.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for humiliation, mental anguish, emotional distress, pain and suffering and financial damages.

Kehoe is represented by Stephen R. Rue of Kenner-based Stephen R. Rue & Associates LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

Case no. 738-634.
