GRETNA – A construction supervisor is suing a local construction company claiming it owes nearly $220,000 for work completed under his employment contract.
Paul Cook filed suit against One Construction LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 24.
Cook contends he entered into a contract with One Construction on Aug. 2, 2010 to provide construction management services to the company as a supervisor of construction work for which he was to be paid 2 percent of gross cost of the jobs he worked on plus 30 percent of profits. The plaintiff asserts that due to his position with the defendant reaped profits from his work effort, skills, expertise and business contacts. Cook further claims he was never disciplined or written up during his work with One Construction. However, the plaintiff alleges the defendant has failed to fully pay his fees for the jobs he worked on and still owes him $219,951.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $219,951 plus attorney’s fees and litigation costs are sought by the plaintiff.
Cook is represented by attorney Glenn C. McGovern of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
Case no. 749-042.
