Man claims Desperados Pizza stole his investment and furniture

A New Orleans man is suing a pizzeria outside the French Quarter, claiming that the restaurant stole his investment and equipment, according to a suit filed in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

David Pinchuk claims that Desperados Pizza, located at 801 Frenchmen St. in the Marigny, "barred [him] from the property and restaurant he set up prior to its opening without reimbursement for any of his expenses."

801 Frenchmen St., Musa Ulasan and Ryan Hessling are named defendants in the suit. The suit claims that the defendants are now operating a business with "equipment leased by Petitioner and other furnishings and build-out paid for by him."

New Orleans attorney Daya Naef filed the petition for damages Nov. 30. It claims that the defendants are violating the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act and requests the court "to direct the Sheriff to seize the materials procured by" the petitioner.

Orleans Parish Judge Michael Bagneris has been assigned this case.
