Sprint sued after St. Tammany Parish man falls down flight of stairs

A St. Tammany Parish resident has filed a personal injury lawsuit against Sprint after he fell down a flight of stairs and was injured.

Ryan Pixley filed sued Sprint Spectrum L.P. on Sept. 26 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. The defendant removed the case to federal court in New Orleans on Nov. 9.

The alleged incident occurred on March 3, 2011, when Pixley fell down a flight of stairs and injured his ankle, knee, back, shoulder, hip and neck.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to properly inspect the area where the accident occurred, failing to properly maintain and inspect and repair said premises, failing to clean said area, failing to use reasonable and prudent care under the circumstances, failing to warn of the unreasonable dangerous condition and failing to provide lighting in the area.

The plaintiff is asking for an award of damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, interest and court costs.
