A Colorado law firm is being sued on allegations of legal malpractice by a Louisiana development group.
MGD Partners and the Coves of the Highland Community Development District filed suit against Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck on Oct. 26 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. The defendant removed the case to federal court in New Orleans on Dec. 12.
According to the complaint, Brownstein provided professional legal services to the plaintiffs in connection with the failure of the real estate project, The Coves of Highland subdivision located in Tangipahoa Parish.
The plaintiffs claim the defendant committed legal malpractice by breaching the standard of care by attorneys.
The plaintiffs are represented by James F. Willeford, Jessica Vasquez and Reagan Toledan of Willeford Law Firm in New Orleans.
U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier is assigned to the case.
