American Interior Plants & Aquatic Gardens Inc. sued

NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany couple is suing local plant and aquatics store located on Elysian Fields for damages following a fall on the stores premises.

Susan Hardy and Arthur Hardy filed a lawsuit against American Interior Plants & Aquatic Gardens, Inc., Essex Insurance Company, and Markel Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Sept. 12. Mrs. Hardy allegedly tripped on a large, deep hole in the defendant's parking lot resulting in a closed bend injury and fractured femur.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep the premises free of unsafe conditions and failure to warn patrons of the dangers existing on the property.

An unspecified amount is sought for all damages.

The plaintiff is represented by Charles M. Thomas of Huber, Slack, Houghtaling, Pandit & Thomas, LLP.

This case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
