Touro Infirmary sued over patron's slip on steps

NEW ORLEANS – A patron of local medical facility Touro Infirmary filed a lawsuit alleging she slipped and fell on steps outside its building causing serious injuries.

Joan Grosh filed a lawsuit against Touro Infirmary in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Sept. 14.

The defendant is accused of failing to provide safe design and maintenance and upkeep to its premises for customers and patients, failing to properly position stairs relative to the building entrance and failing to remedy an unsafe and hazardous condition.

An unspecified amount is sought for all damages including pain and suffering, medical expenses, and permanent disability to the body.

J. Bart Kelly, III of New Orleans-based Alvendia, Kelly and Demarrest is the attorney for the plaintiff.

This case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
