NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans Terminal, Ceres International Terminals and Ceres Gulf Inc. and their insurers are being sued by a local resident claiming a chassis extender lock down mechanism manufactured by the defendants failed, causing him both property and physical damages.
Mack Arthur Williams filed a lawsuit against New Orleans Terminal LLC, Ceres International Terminals, Inc., Ceres Gulf Inc. and their insurers in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Nov.2. Williams contends that a chassis extender lock down mechanism owned by the defendants failed to operate properly.
The defendants are accused of negligently and improperly installing a lock down mechanism for a chassis extender that was reasonably dangerous, installing a lock down mechanism causing the chassis to come apart and failing to warn plaintiff of an unsafe condition.
The plaintiff is seeking a monetary reward to compensate for past and future medical expenses, his lumbar injuries, loss of wages and pain and suffering.
