GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing a local car dealership she claims improperly serviced her car, which resulted in her wheel falling off while she was driving.

Gail Jones filed suit against LeBlanc Automobiles, Inc. and Lexus of New Orleans in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 7. Jones claims she was operating her 2007 Lexus when her left front tire detached from the car’s axle and her car was damaged. The plaintiff alleges the incident occurred after getting the wheel serviced at LeBlanc Automobiles Lexus of New Orleans located at 8801 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie.

The defendant is accused of improperly performing a brake job, improperly tightening lug nuts on the vehicle’s left front wheel and causing damages to the axle studs.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.

Jones is represented by Brian G. Shearman of New Orleans-based Shearman – Denenea, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

Case no. 721-797.
