NEW ORLEANS – A Los Angeles man visiting a local Hyatt is suing the hotel after he bit down into a sandwich purchased at the establishment’s restaurant and broke two teeth after biting into an olive in which the pit had not been removed.
Farzan Ghadoshahy filed a lawsuit against Hyatt Corporation, Aon Risk Services of Southwest, Inc. and their insurer in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 4. The plaintiff claims he broke two teeth as a result of the kitchen staff at the hotel restaurant failing to remove the pit of olive used to dress his sandwich.
The defendants are accused of failure to timely and adequately inspect the food before serving it, failure to properly manage kitchen staff and failure to remove hazards from their food.
An unspecified amount is sought for mental and physical pain, physical disability, lost wages and medical and dental expenses.
The plaintiff is represented by Clifford E. Cardone of the New Orleans-based Cardone Law Firm.
This case has been assigned to Division H Judge Michael G. Bagneris.
Case no. 2012-11280.
