NEW ORLEANS - An investment company is suing an Orleans Parish construction and demolition company on the grounds that the local LLC performed substandard work on two properties they own.

Bethel Investments of New Orleans Inc. filed a lawsuit against Magic Makeover Construction and Demolition LLC and Miguel Adrian Hernandez in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on Dec. 19.

The plaintiff owns two properties for which they hired the defendant to renovate for the purpose of turning both into commercial rental properties. The defendants allegedly failed to bring the properties up to the standard agreed upon under contract.

The defendant is accused of failing to complete construction and renovations in accordance with the time restraints and quality guaranteed.

An unspecified amount is sought for the loss of revenue petitioner incurred due to the work not being done in a timely manner, legal fees and court costs.

Bethel is represented by attorney Eric Oliver Person of New Orleans.

This case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

Case no. 2012-11907.
